Tree Equity: Everyone is affected. However, not all are affected equally.

Help the Giving Grove increase tree canopy in divested urban areas across the United States

For too long, the environmental and health benefits of dense tree canopy have primarily been available for affluent neighborhoods and communities. We aim to increase equity by planting urban orchards in areas that have faced decades of disinvestment thanks to redlining and other inequities.

[A] study found that 94% of formerly redlined areas, which remain mostly lower income communities of color, are exposed to higher temperatures than non-redlined, affluent areas.”
— National Oceanic & Atmospheric Association

An average 15-tree orchard can create over 4,000 square feet of tree-covered green space helping decrease temperatures in typically pavement-covered neighborhoods and communities.

Change the urban landscape in cities across the nation by donating today.

Our goal for the month of September is to raise enough funds to provide 20,000 square feet of tree-covered greenspace ($5,000) in divested neighborhoods across the nation. Help us reach that goal by donating today and sharing our Tree Equity Campaign with your loved ones. Together, we can change the urban landscape!

We also welcome donations by mail and from Donor Advised Funds.
